Foundation
Founded in 2020, the main focus of Van Niekerk Engineering was on the design of hardware robots. By customer demand, the main focus changed to software-, solutions-, enterprise- and systems architecture with the other services still being offered.
Our services
Our services are spread over several disciplines, using the latest standards (2025):
When your system architecture needs a change or update, Van Niekerk Engineering will in collaboration with you, (re)design or change your system architecture and give you advise. In our view, there is no “one size fits all”. The same goes for our way of system engineering.
Also, we will use the most applicable method for your situation, for example SysML 1.7, Arcadia, Modelica or other.
When enterprises or institutes either grow, are taken over or otherwise change due to circumstances, the architecture has to change accordingly. Before you can make the change happen, it is wise to design the architecture and document the changes.
Van Niekerk Engineering will, in collaboration with you, (re)structure and (re)design your enterprise and business processes. For this, the most applicable method will be used, for example ArchiMate 3.2, BPMN 2.0, Structured Design or other.
When you have an idea for a great software project, what do you do? Instantly hire a programmer? Or first hire a software architect that designs a solid foundation upon which a programmer can write the solid software?
At Van Niekerk Engineering, we design the software architecture of your project(s), using for example UML 2.5.x
Using SQL (Structured Query Language) is the way to extract your data from a relational database and use it in combination with, for example, scripting to create personalized letters, etc.
At Van Niekerk Engineering, we can help you setting up database with MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL. These databases have proven themselves as extremely reliable and are deployed by many companies.
If you have let AI generate your ideas on BPMN, UML, Archimate etc. but you are no real expert on the subject, Van Niekerk Engineering can check the consistency of your graphs with own expertise.
Have you ever though about using Open Source alternatives for your company software? Or breaking away from software that leaves you with a vendor-lock-in, high license costs or subscription fees?
At Van Niekerk Engineering, we can use the more than 20 years of experience with the deployment and use of Open Source operating systems for servers and desktops (for example Linux or BSD) and desktop software.
If you have either an idea or already some sketches, at Van Niekerk Engineering, we can put your ideas into 2D and 3D drawings or models with Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Engineering using a variety of tools.

Location of our customers
Our customers are located in the EMEA area (for example: the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Czechia, Saudi-Arabia, U.A.E., Kenya) as well as the USA.
Office- and responsetime
Because the company is located in the Netherlands, response will usually be given during Amsterdam-time (CEST) office hours.
Possibilities
We are available for gigs, short-term and long-term assignments and you can buy time (for example for a gig) starting from 15 minutes up to hours.
