About

The foundation of Van Niekerk Engineering

Founded in 2020, the main focus of Van Niekerk Engineering (VNE in short) was on the design of hardware robots. By customer demand, the main focus changed to solutions- and enterprise-architecture with the other services still being offered.

Notes

1: Van Niekerk Engineering has become victim of identityfraud. Due to this, the decision was made to only provide an email-link on this page and more information on the Contact page.
2: Please do NOT send unsollicited marketing mail via post using Chamber of Commerce information. It is NOT allowed and NOT appreciated. Receiving unsollicited marketing emails is bad enough.
3: Van Niekerk Engineering on facebook is a company in South-Africa. Not us. The only social media presence is on LinkedIn and Instagram.

Van Niekerk Engineering’s strengths

If you ask to write your custom software, it will be limited to run on the Linux operating system.
It is possible to implement your custom software using C, C++, COBOL, FORTRAN, Python, Pascal, Perl or R. But it will not be as quickly and cleanly written as you expect from a software engineer. Also, AI will not be used.
Advise on which programming language should be used is also possible. For example, C and C++ both have a purpose for use just as COBOL and FORTRAN have their purposes of use.
That said, with some 30 years experience of designing algorithms and code, things are possible. At Van Niekerk Engineering, programming is preferrably done without a neat graphical user interface, such as embedded software.
With this clarified…..

Your system architecture using system- and requirements engineering using e.g. SysML, MBSE, KAOS.
Your Solution and/or Enterprise Architecture using standards such as Archimate, TOGAF.
Your IT and business processes using standards such as BPMN, DMN, DataFlowDiagram.
Your software architecture using tools and languages such as flowcharts, UML.
Your non-RPA robots: going for the most appropriate method of design, e.g. software, mechanics, electronics or combinations. Experienced in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
Your SQL database: MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL and warehousing. Modeling using IDEF0, normalization (e.g. 3NF) or DataVault 2.0. Using Perl/Python/… to manipulate data. Maintenance is an option.
NOTE: NoSQL database (e.g. MongoDB) expertise is not in our portfolio.
Open source software: in collaboration with you, we’ll make a (replacement) list of your desired applications and (remotely) install for you.
Design your 2D (.dxf) or 3D CAD / CAE model and creating (standard) printable files for it.
Graphical design or modelling
Create and edit your video
Create, design, maintain your (simple) website.
Drawing your electronic circuit
Creating (electronics) simulations
Data analysis and processing using Python, R or Fortran.
… and more ! Please email for possibilities and quotes.
